You can first use a press to press the bearing onto the shaft, and then install the shaft and bearing together into the bearing seat hole. When pressing, pay attention to placing an assembly sleeve made of soft metal material on the end face of the bearing inner ring. The inner diameter of the assembly sleeve should be larger than the diameter of the journal, and the outer diameter should be smaller than the inner ring edge of the bearing.

Four installation methods for zinc alloy bearing seats

1. Press fit method

The outer ring of the bearing should fit closely with the bearing seat hole. If the inner ring fits loosely with the shaft, the bearing can be pressed into the hole of the bearing seat first. At this time, it should be noted that the outer diameter of the assembly sleeve should be smaller than the diameter of the seat hole. If the bearing ring fits tightly with the shaft and seat hole, both the inner and outer rings should be pressed into the shaft and seat hole at the same time.

2. Heating matching method

This is a commonly used and labor-saving installation method that utilizes the thermal expansion of the bearing heater to turn a tight fit into a loose fit. Firstly, the bearing or separable bearing ring should be placed in the oil tank for uniform heating, with a temperature range of 80-100 ℃. After heating, it should be taken out of the oil tank and installed on the shaft as soon as possible. In order to avoid the loose fit between the inner ring end face and the shaft shoulder after the bearing cools down, axial tightening can be carried out again.

When the outer ring of the bearing is tightly matched with the bearing seat, the method of heating the bearing seat can avoid scratching the mating surface. When heating bearings with oil tanks, the bearings should not be placed directly at the bottom of the box. Instead, a mesh should be placed at a certain distance from the bottom of the box, or a hook should be used to hang the bearings directly. In addition, a thermometer must be installed in the oil tank to control the oil temperature to not exceed 100 ℃, in order to prevent tempering effect and reduce the hardness of the ring.

3. Installation of tapered hole bearings

If the conical surface is equipped with a tightening sleeve and a withdrawal sleeve, the tapered hole bearing can be installed on the tapered journal. The radial clearance of the bearing can be reduced to balance the tightness. Before installation, the radial clearance of the bearing should be measured. During the installation process, the clearance should be measured regularly until the required clearance reduction is achieved. Generally, locking nuts are used for installation, and heating installation can also be used.

4. Installation of thrust bearings

The installation of thrust bearings is relatively simple. First, fix the central spring of the bidirectional thrust bearing on the shaft to prevent it from rotating on the shaft. The fit between the bearing inner race and the shaft belongs to interference fit, and the fit between the bearing outer race and the bearing chamber belongs to clearance fit.

The function, material, and installation method of bearing seats have been introduced so much for everyone. It is precisely because bearings and bearing seats play a huge role that we need to regularly maintain the bearings and bearing seats, identify and solve problems as soon as possible, in order to improve production efficiency and safety.
