Disassembly and installation of stainless steel bearings

Bearings are the main components of a machine, and the flexibility of machine operation mainly depends on the assembly quality of stainless steel bearings. To ensure assembly quality, disassembly and assembly methods should be mastered.

1、 Dismantling of bearings

1. Disassembly of sliding bearings and bearing shells

The arms of sliding bearings are generally thin and prone to damage and strain. When disassembling, first remove the fixing screws and pins around the bearings. For bearings with locating flanges, attention should be paid to the disassembly direction after the stainless steel bearing cover and bearing seat are separated. When disassembling tiles, copper or wooden rods should be used to support the steel back of the bearing pad end face, and attention should be paid to protecting the alloy layer. Sleeve type bearing shells should be extracted or pressed out using disassembly tools, and should not be forcefully knocked to avoid deformation and damage to the bearing shells.

2. Disassembly of rolling bearings

Before disassembling the rolling bearing, it is necessary to check and determine the direction of disassembly, and pay attention to the presence of axial positioning devices. When disassembling the bearing from the shaft, the force point should be selected on the inner ring of the bearing; Remove from hole

When disassembling, the force point should be selected on the outer ring of the bearing, and the force should be evenly applied to prevent the bearing from tilting.

2、 Installation of bearings

1. Installation of sleeve type sliding bearings

Ensure that there is an appropriate gap between the shaft and the bearing during installation to facilitate the formation of a lubricating oil film. The bearing and seat hole should have appropriate tightness to prevent the bearing from rotating with the shaft during operation. The specific requirements are as follows:

① Before pressing, check whether the dimensions of each part of the bearing meet the requirements, whether there are any defects, and clean the dirt on the contact surface, apply lubricating oil, clean the oil passage, and align it with the oil passage hole on the body.

② Select appropriate tools during installation based on the position of stainless steel bearings on the body and the size of the bearings.

③ After the bearing is pressed, set screws or pins shall be added to the non interference fit, and the inner diameter shall be checked to see if it meets the requirements. If deformation occurs, it must be trimmed, generally by boring, reaming and scraping.

2. Installation of split sliding bearings

① Split type sliding bearings are commonly referred to as bearing shells. Before installation, the oil passages, oil grooves, and mating surfaces should be cleaned, and the oil holes on the bearing seat and bearing shells should be checked to see if they are facing each other. Pay attention to removing the rust preventive wax on the bearing parts, and do not burn it with fire to avoid melting the metal at a high temperature. It should be melted in hot water or oil and cleaned up.

② When installing the bearing pads, a wooden board should be placed on the end face of the bearing pad, and a copper rod should be used to gently hit the pad into the pad seat. The outer surface of the bearing pad should be tightly connected to the bearing seat and cover, otherwise the bearing pad is prone to deformation

The shape or alloy layer breaks or even falls off. To ensure a tight fit of the bearing shell, its separating surface should be slightly higher than the bearing separating surface (usually 0.05-0.1mm).

③ The bearing pads are installed into the machine body and are not allowed to move axially or radially. They are generally fixed using locating pins, protruding key stops, or steps. The assembly contact surface of the bearing shell is required to be between 70% and 75%.

3. Installation of rolling bearings

① Before installation, it is necessary to clean the raceways and oil passages of the stainless steel bearings, and the bearings that need lubrication should be coated with lubricating oil.

② During installation, dirt should not fall into the bearing ring to avoid damaging the rolling element and surface.

③ Check whether the fit interference of the inner and outer rings of the bearing meets the standards as required.

④ When installing and using special tools, pressure should be applied to the seat ring with a tight fitting surface, and the force should be evenly applied to prevent the bearing from tilting.

⑤ When installing stainless steel bearings with large interference, they should not be forcefully knocked, and should be assembled using a press or heating method.

⑥ After the installation of the bearing, it should be checked whether its end face is tightly attached to the bearing surface of the shaft or seat shoulder, whether it rotates flexibly, and whether there is any jamming phenomenon
